After the rewarding success of the previous twelve conferences, 25 year-conferences since 1984 to 2009, the Structural Engineering Department of the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University invites you to attend the 13th International Conference on Structural and Geotechnical Engineering (13th ICSGE ), to be held in Cairo, Egypt on 27-29 December, 2009 at The Cairo International Conference Center. Participants are invited to discuss and exchange ideas and information as well as to promote the recent developments of Structural and Geotechnical Engineering. International experts will present Keynote lectures in different fields . Exhibition on the stem of construction products and equipme WHO SHOULD ATTEND The conference is intended for civil and structural engineers, architects and associated professionals concerned with the state-of-the-art design, construction, monitoring, and performance of structures, e.g. bridges and buildings. Participants will therefore represent consultants, researchers, owners, contractors, suppliers and regulatory authorities. CALL FOR PAPERS Participants wishing to present a contribution are invited to submit an abstractrelated to the conference themes. The abstract should be written in ENGLISH and Not exceed 300 words. Abstracts shall be submitted Online through Website CONFERENCE LANGUAGE The conference will be conducted in English. No simultaneous translation will be available. All published materials will be in English. SOCIAL PROGRAM There will be an attractive social program for participants and accompanying persons during and after the conference. Guests will be able to take part in tours and trip to Luxor, Aswan, Hurghada, Sharm Elshiekh and Sina arranged by local tourist agencies. Detailed information will be available on the conference web-site. Cairo, is the capital of Egypt, a country of 7000 years of history, and lies on the banks of the Nile River in the north of Egypt. The beauty of nature and ancient monuments from the Pharaonic, Coptic and Islamic periods are combined harmoniously in Cairo in a unique panorama. The city is officially known as al-Qahirah, which means "The Subduer". Cairo was the largest city in the world from 1315 to 1348. Presently, it is the Arab world's cultural center. The city occupies a total area of 210 sq. km. Its metropolitan area covers 1,492 sq. km. Around 15,5 Million people reside in the city with a density of 73809 per sq. km, making it the most populous city in Africa. Places of Attraction: Egyptian Pyramids and Sphinx are the major tourist attractions in the city. Many monuments and historical artefacts attract tourists to the city. People gather in the city, which has several malls, cinemas and theatres As a place of historical importance, Cairo has several monuments that date back to its origin. Tourists from the entire globe visit here to view and learn about the history of the city. Transportation: Cairo International Airport serves the city. The city holds the credit of being the only African city to have Metro system. The Cairo Transportation Authority handles all other transportations in the city like bus system. City-cab is the other public transport facility in the city.

CONFERENCE LOCATION The Conference will be held in The Cairo International Conference Center in Nasr City, Cairo. The CICC is only 20 minutes from Cairo International Air-Port .
DEADLINES
